Kendal Art Society meets on a weekly basis throughout the year, with several outdoor meetings during the summer

Members and non-member guests are all welcome. If it is your first time, please introduce yourself or feel free to get in touch online ahead of a meeting so that someone knows to look out for you.

Our regular base is the Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal on Thursday mornings but please check here for timings and venues for individual events and meetings.

  • KAS Annual Art Exhibition

    Our first garden visit this year is to the beautiful garden at Cook House, Levens, with stunning flowers and views to sketch and paint.  Parking is not too bad in the area but its a good idea to share cars if you can. Meet around 10.00 for coffee.

  • Sketching at Castle Green Hotel, Kendal

    We are invited to the Lodge at southern entrance to Castle Green Hotel for coffee before going out to sketch in the grounds. For those of you who havent been before, the grounds are very attractive with mature trees, shrubs and flowers in formal and wild gardens. A very pretty spot.

    There is free parking and the park across the road is free, but there is a charge for the garden. There are wonderful trees and a winding river in the park, but please be careful crossing the very busy A6. Meet in the cafe at 10.00-10.30
