John Mounsey

My mother was a keen amateur watercolour artist and went out sometimes with W. Heaton Cooper, and over my lifetime I have dabbled in the medium.  When I retired from teaching Biology I took advantage of a government grant to set myself up in business as an artist and I also joined Sedbergh Art Society.  I exhibited with the latter annually until we moved to Kendal in 2013 when I joined Kendal Art Society.  I find that I sold about 90 paintings and drawings while at my most active, but old age and the loss of sight in one eye have severely limited my current artwork.  I have no images of most of my paintings, but I attach copies of some, representing the work I used to do.
