Kendal Art Society meets on a weekly basis throughout the year, with several outdoor meetings during the summer

Members and non-member guests are all welcome. If it is your first time, please introduce yourself or feel free to get in touch online ahead of a meeting so that someone knows to look out for you.

Our regular base is the Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal on Thursday mornings but please check here for timings and venues for individual events and meetings.

  • The Yards of Kendal

    Get ready for a great morning sketching in the yards of Kendal, and there are so many to choose from! We will meet at the Abbot Hall Social Centre for coffee and decisions about where to go to sketch.

  • Frances and John Davenport’s Garden

    8 Oxenholme Road Kendal

    Another beautiful garden to visit, let's hope the weather is good. There is sometimes room to park on Oxenholme Road or you could try the Murley Moss Business Park across the road.

  • Levens Hall Park or Gardens

    Levens Hall and Garden Llevens Hall, Kendal, Cumbria

    Another favourite of ours. Levens hall has free parking but there is a charge for the garden. The park is across the road and you are free to wander. Meet in the cafe 10.00am Good Cafe

  • Ian and Angela Royle’s Garden

    Ian and Angela's garden is very interesting with a beautiful flower garden at the front, and lawns, flowers, a pond and vegetables at the back.  They even have an active beehive. We are always made very welcome.

  • Flora or Fauna

    Welcome back for the winter programme. This session is for you to decide what you would like to draw or sketch.  Either work from photos or from fresh flowers, leaves or fungi.  Bring your own in, or work from a selection of photos, or flowers in the centre.
