Kendal Art Society meets on a weekly basis throughout the year, with several outdoor meetings during the summer

Members and non-member guests are all welcome. If it is your first time, please introduce yourself or feel free to get in touch online ahead of a meeting so that someone knows to look out for you.

Our regular base is the Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal on Thursday mornings but please check here for timings and venues for individual events and meetings.

    Landscape panting is always a favourite.  You might want to continue with techniques learnt in Karen Lester's workshop, or do your own thing.  Time is getting on and we need to be thinking about our annual exhibition!

    Workshop with Ruth Clayton of Farfield Mill.  Ruth has a history of popular tutor led workshops and is well known for her watercolour sea and waterfall paintings.  You will come away from her workshop with a completed painting.

  • 10 Minute Poses

    Sketch each other today.  Do 10 minute poses, standing, sitting, holding something or anything you can think of.

  • Interior of a Cafe from a Sketch or a Photo

    Abbot Hall Adult Social Centre Dowker Lane, Kendal

    Use any medium to paint or sketch the interior of a cafe.  You can take your idea from somewhere you have been and sketched, or have taken a photo.  You could make it up or take the idea from famous artists like the French Impressionists who often did paintings of cafe or restaurant life.
