Kendal Art Society meets on a weekly basis throughout the year, with several outdoor meetings during the summer

Members and non-member guests are all welcome. If it is your first time, please introduce yourself or feel free to get in touch online ahead of a meeting so that someone knows to look out for you.

Our regular base is the Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal on Thursday mornings but please check here for timings and venues for individual events and meetings.

    Get ready for our annual visit to the fascinating Sprint Mill where there is plenty to see and sketch, both inside and out. Please bring your own refreshments.

  • Beetham Nursery and surrounding area.

    Meet in the cafe at Beetham Nursery for coffee, then sketch in the growing area of the nursery, outside the main buildings.  There will be lots to see and sketch.

  • Scroggs Wood

    Scroggs Wood is a small area of woodland along the river bank not far from the weir.  A great favourite with dog walkers, it can be accessed from Scroggs Lane, River Bank Road and Bellingham Road. Scroggs Lane is immediately past Hadwins, the used car dealer, Milnthorpe Road.

    Graham Tyford is back! After the wonderful demonstration last year we are very pleased that he has agreed to come back this year with another oil painting demonstration. Wonderful! There will be a small cost of £5.00 in order to help with expenses, but refreshments will be supplied.
