Kendal Art Society meets on a weekly basis throughout the year, with several outdoor meetings during the summer

Members and non-member guests are all welcome. If it is your first time, please introduce yourself or feel free to get in touch online ahead of a meeting so that someone knows to look out for you.

Our regular base is the Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal on Thursday mornings but please check here for timings and venues for individual events and meetings.

  • Leighton Moss with Fiona Clucas

    Leighton Moss Storrs Lane

    Map reference SD 476750 Leighton Moss is an RSPB reserve so there are charges, but the carpark and access to the cafe is free. We will meet in the cafe between 10.00 and 10.30 Fiona Clucas will be around in the morning to help you with your painting and composition.

    Weather permitting we will be meeting in Frances Winder's garden.  There are 3 parking places on the drive and there is a layby nearby.

    We will meet at the weir map ref SD 470988, as the nearest cafe is the Eclec and I don't know it at all. There are parking places along the road.

    Ruskin Museum Coniston

    Ruskin Museum is on Yewdale Road, close to the centre of the village, behind the Coniston Institute. Free parking can be found at the side of the road beyond Herdwick's cafe on Yewdale Road and also on Coppermines Road behind the Museum. Free time-limited parking spaces can also be found in marked found on Yewdale Road.

  • Trip to the Burrell Museum, Glasgow.

    County Hall Busher Walk, Kendal

    We will be Picked up from the County Hall by coach at 8.15am, and will leave Glasgow at 4.30pm The cost should be around £20 depending on numbers. Entrance is free.
