Kendal Art Society meets on a weekly basis throughout the year, with several outdoor meetings during the summer

Members and non-member guests are all welcome. If it is your first time, please introduce yourself or feel free to get in touch online ahead of a meeting so that someone knows to look out for you.

Our regular base is the Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal on Thursday mornings but please check here for timings and venues for individual events and meetings.

  • Anatomy of Painting – illustrated talk

    Martin Kinnear will be giving us an illustrated talk on 'The Anatomy of Painting'. This should be a really interesting talk and I hope there will be a good attendance.

  • Life Drawing

  • Discuss and show own paintings

    Bring paintings, sketches or sketchbooks to discuss with other members or, if you don't feel you can do the discussion part, just bring them in and leave on a table in the room.  It's good to see what our members have been doing over the winter. We will have coffee and cake!

  • Relax and paint or sketch anything you like

  • Holehird RHS Gardens sketching

    Its been a diabolical June but hopefully we will be meeting in Holehird gardens for a sketching morning of flowers and scenery.  Free parking, donation welcome.  Sometimes there maybe refreshments available but I'd advise you to bring your own.

    This week we will meet in Levens, at the garden of member Lucy Sclater.  Its a lovely garden with views over the countryside.  Refreshments are usually provided.
